Soaring Raven, Acoma Pueblo
The Common Raven (Crovis Corax) has served as a symbol of mythology and folklore. Residents sometimes refer to raves as the Acoma air force. Acomans also believe the Raven created the world as we know it.

Acoma Pueblo
Also known as "Sky City", Acoma is a Native American pueblo standing atop of a 367-foot sandstone mesa in New Mexico, between the modern day cities of Albuquerque on the east, and Gallup, on the west. Built perhaps in the 1100s, Acoma is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in the United States. By community vote, people live as they did hundreds of years ago, without benefit of electricity or modern plumbing. Water is collected in a series of cisterns. Each home is heated by adobe fireplace. Capture Date: Nov 4, 2009 04:28 PM•Views: 62

San Felipe de Neri Church in Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico
This is where our group, from the San Diego Natural History Museum, began our trip. Built in 1793, it is one of the oldest surviving building in the city of Albuquerque. We ate dinner our first night around the corner, at the delightful Church Street Cafe, reputedly constructed in 1706.
