Heron at the Magic Hour (When I ride a bike, I usually like to wear the uniform - lycra shorts and jersey, gloves, helmet, and bike shoes. Except for a patch kit, pump and water bottle, I hate carrying anything extra on my bike. But for this ride, I put my camera, with a 400mm, f/5.6 lens attached, inside a daypack and slung it all over my shoulders. It took me about 30 minutes to reach a spot along Ballona Creek where I spotted this beautiful heron, about an hour before sunset.)
