Magic Light, Prismatic Light!
I'm not sure what caused the rainbow effect in the beam of light at Stoneman Meadow, in Yosemite. Could I have seen it with my naked eye, or was it caused in some weird way by my lens?

Lower Yosemite Falls - Around Midnight
A beautiful moonbow appears at Yosemite Falls in May. The human eye can't detect color, but the camera can.

Upper Yosemite Falls - Around Midnight
After photographing a moonbow at the base of Yosemite Falls, I made some images of the upper fall, taken from Yosemite Lodge. The bright, autumn colors in the trees come from the lights in the parking lot.

Raven at Bridalveil Fall, Yosemite
I spotted this raven on a branch over the parking lot at Bridalveil Fall, at a time a rainbow is visible opposite the the water winter sun. Moving to my right and left let me "move" the raven into position against the colorful portion of the fall.

A Mosquito and My Arm in Yosemite
Sometimes I like to photograph mosquitos in action. I use my own arm, hand or leg and either let the little creature finish what it started, or gently blow it away. I made this photo with my little digicam, which has a terrific macro mode.

Milkweed Pod Below Half Dome at Sunset
This isn't a photo you could see with your naked eye. I could see it, though, in advance, in my mind's eye, a skill given to me by prior experience.
To actually see the image, I screwed a Nikon 5T close-up lens onto the front of my telephoto lens. Then I moved back and forth a bit until I managed to fit the milkweed pod into the upper reaches of an out-of-focus Half Dome.

Lupine, Yosemite
My low angle, focal length and f/stop let me put the lupine against a dark background that was a slender pine. I made this photo while conducting a workshop for the Yosemite Conservancy.

Barn Interior, Yosemite
This old barn is off the beaten track in Yosemite. Except for myself, and the friends and photo groups I bring, I've only seen someone else once over the years I've photographed this barn, which dates perhaps back to the 1860s.
