How Do You See The World?
The Smallest Waterfall in Yosemite (The "smallest waterfall in Yosemite," Fern Spring, is in reality about two feet tall.)
Along the South Fork of the Merced, Wawona (Yosemite)
South Fork of the Merced, Wawona (Yosemite)
Waterfall through the Trees
Spring Colors, Yosemite (A classic view of Bridalveil Fall in spring, but one with a surreal rainbow that only appears for a few minutes at one time of the day, at this one time of the year.)
Burn Day in the Valley (Periodic burning of the undergrowth of Yosemite can sometimes mar the view, and sometimes enhance it.)
Indian Paintbrush with Hanger-On
Along the South Fork of the Merced, Wawona (Yosemite) (Some photographers look for gestures from inanimate and non-human subjects. I saw a gesture here.)
Grasses, Yosemite
Soft and Hard (This is another Yosemite - one that puts aside the well-known landmarks.)
Rock Climber (Yes, it's me. And the reality is that the ground is a few inches under my feet.)
Mystery of Bridalveil Fall , Yosemite (This is a bit of a mystery picture. I'll be on the lookout for ones similar to it on subsequent trips to Yosemite.)
Forest Barn, Yosemite (For now, Foresta is a sort of secret location in Yosemite, where I enjoy taking my photography students. Because we seem to change the things we hold dear, it's possible the Park will one day put this barn - and all the possible close-up photos that are contained within - off limits.)
At the Pioneer Village, Wawona (The Pioneer Village in Yosemite brings together a number of buildings that were found in other parts of the park. They were moved to protect them from vandals. The horses are real. But in this rather ersatz environement do the buildings - barn, stable, jail, school, blacksmith - still have as much import or meaning to Yosemite when they have been removed from their historical surroundings?)
In Stoneman Meadow
Jays at the Ahwahnee Hotel
Raven, Yosemite Valley
