Each year around the end of September, I travel with a small group of photographers to "Yellowstone Country." The trip is co-sponsored by the San Diego Natural History Museum. Meeting in Salt Lake City - we were from California, Arizona, New Jersey, and Utah - we drove north along back roads through Utah and Idaho that first day. We photographed where and what we wanted before reaching Jackson Hole, Wyoming, for the night. The next few days saw us in the Tetons and Yellowstone, and we pushed on into Montana twice, staying one night in the small town of Gardiner, and enjoying lunch in the wonderfully remote town of Cook City.
Most photographs were made with the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens. Those of the moose were made with the Tamron 18-270mm lens, the grizzly bear photoraphs were made with a Tokina 400mm lens.
