This year was my 15th leading a photo tour to Yellowstone Country. It was the first time we experienced snow on our travels from Salt Lake City to Jackson, Wyoming, on our first day out.


Along with snow-dappled pines and aspens above 7,000 feet, and brilliantly red maples we found in profusion at lower altitudes, we also spotted a couple of moose.


On subsequent days, we ventured into a variety of locations in the Grand Tetons and in Yellowstone National Parks.

From here the Yellowstone River plunges over an impressively high cliff. While most photographers were interested in the falls, I zeroed in on just a piece of the far side of the river.
