Our photography group traveled across the terrain of Death Valley for portions of four days, from Titus Canyon in the north to Badwater, in the south. We also explored Rhyolite, a ghost town just north of the park. Part of the challenge of the long weekend meant dealing with more than occasional cloudy weather, which robbed us of the light we wanted to find in the desert, yet also provided some drama to the scene. I think the challenge made us better photographers. I know I came back with photographs of Death Valley different than those I've made in past years. The trip was co-sponsored by the Death Valley Natural History Museum.
